Fen Technology’s engineering picks up industry award

Fen Technology Ltd, an electronic design services company, today announced that the DTC-720 Xpect 24/7 Transport-Stream monitoring product, jointly developed by Fen and Dutch Digital TV test and monitoring product firm, DekTec, has received a Pick-Hit award at the recent National Association of Broadcasters show in Las Vegas.

With a long history, Pick Hits are the most prestigious technical awards given at the near ninety-thousand attendee-strong NAB. A panel of independent judges toured the show floor for three days, looking for innovative products and technology. The judges then met to make their selections based on several criteria, including the technical and financial improvements the product can bring to a facility's operation.

The DTC-720 Xpect product enables simultaneous monitoring of multiple Digital TV Transport Streams against TR 101 290 and template profiles. It also facilitates capturing of monitored Transport Streams to a file with pre- and post-trigger buffers, either client-initiated or triggered by a violation. It logs events to a database, maintains detailed statistical information and is accessible by a web interface or can be integrated into a Network Management System.

“This is fantastic recognition for the considerable team effort put into this multi-year development” said Tim Reynolds, lead engineer on the development at Fen Technology.
