Here are some project scenarios to illustrate our engineers’ skills and recent experience:

DTT Freeview STB development

A European start-up required a low-cost DTT (Digital Terrestrial Television) Set Top Box starting from scratch:

Assessment of various architectural options including the selection of the most appropriate DVB MPEG chipset
Definition of the software architecture for the system
Design and implementation of a bespoke user-interface software application in C
Design and implementation of specific drivers including the FLASH file system, OFDM scanning utility, clock recovery, AFD aspect ratio/ picture scaling, MPEG A/V and I2C master
Liaison with PSU vendor, silicon vendor’s technical support, manufacturing subcontractor, industrial designer, EMC and Safety test houses

European DVB STB development

A ‘blue-chip’ consumer electronics company needed a European DVB (Digital Video Broadcast) Set Top Box:

Project management of a multi-disciplinary engineering team of 24 engineers
Design implementation and test of a boot-loader for over-air software download
Development of a comprehensive test interface for production based on a DVB Common Interface wireless connection
Technical liaison with middleware supplier, key silicon vendors and Broadcast Service Provider
